About me

Introduction

Top university graduate Experienced with international students

I am currently a junior research assistant at the London Institute for Mathematical Sciences, a position I have held since June 2024 after graduating with a master’s degree in theoretical physics from Oxford. I will be beginning a PhD in theoretical physics and artificial intelligence in October 2025 at the University of Cambridge. Alongside my education/research, I have been tutoring with several top UK private tuition agencies for the past three years, specialising in maths and physics.

During my time at Oxford, I graduated in the top 10% of my cohort, and my dissertation on quantum field theory won the BP prize for best theoretical physics thesis. I am passionate about problem-solving and adapting my teaching to meet students' individual needs; helping them excel in their studies, whether preparing for entrance exams or achieving top grades in A-Level, GCSE, or various international qualifications.

My teaching approach centers on addressing the common issue where students struggle with maths and physics topics due to surface-level methods taught under the constraints of our education system. My ultimate goal is to delve deeper into the 'why' behind the fundamental concepts, ensuring that students leave sessions with a newfound appreciation for the equations and laws they typically rehearse without understanding their broader significance.

I strive to demystify these subjects by leveraging my acute knowledge of their real-world applications, drawn from over four years of experience working with physicists and mathematicians in both academia and industry. This practical perspective helps illuminate the theoretical aspects of the curriculum, making the material more accessible and engaging.

In terms of personality, I am calm, relaxed, and friendly, aiming to dispel some of the harmful stereotypes around the types of people who pursue STEM degrees and careers. By presenting a more inclusive image of the STEM fields, I actively encourage a diverse range of students to explore and excel in these areas, regardless of their background or previous academic performance.
