About me

Introduction

I am an interdisciplinary fashion designer and researcher at the University of Edinburgh. Formally trained in mixed media textiles, my practice specialises in data physicalisation strategies using computational design, digital fabrication and remote-sensing methods. I am interested in exploring fashion at the cross-roads of emerging technologies, alongside critical and speculative approaches to making. I have been tutoring since September 2019 across a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses from Design Informatics, to a theoretically-led exploration of the histories, politics, roles, dissemination and futures shaping design practices. My commitment to teaching emphasises on a dialogical model where learning is a co-evolving process of growth. It seeks to support students towards becoming critically aware, self-reflexive and develop the disposition for raising questions of their own within and beyond the classroom. I have experience in providing tutorials to help students formulate their own design projects, both individually and group-based work. This includes verbal-written forms of feedback, student-led presentations and interactive sessions to promote peer to peer support, which are tailored to student needs and interests.
