For my bachelor’s degree, I studied English language and literature in one of the most prestigious universities in Iran and I went on to pursue a master’s degree in British and American studies in Italy. Through my studies, I've developed a deep insight into the English language and its subtleties. As a non-native speaker who has taught the language for years, I bring a unique perspective to language teaching and learning. To hone my teaching skills, I applied for CELTA which is an internationally recognized teaching certificate and managed to receive pass A.
I started teaching English when I was still a university student and since then have been teaching non-stop. I've taught individuals of all age groups, from young children to adults, and I've had the privilege of teaching people from diverse cultural backgrounds, including Iranian, Turkish, Italian, Chinese, and Taiwanese. I’ve taught General English as well as exam preparation courses, especially IELTS. As a junior supervisor at the language school where I taught, I had the opportunity to observe other teachers, provide them feedback, and gain a deeper understanding of effective English teaching methods.
What I try to do in my classes is to give students the chance to practice English in a real-world context; whether it be learning how to hold conversations in English or prepare for exams such as IELTS, TOEFL, etc. Having lived in a different country, I’m now more equipped with and aware of the kind of language learners need to survive in an English-speaking environment. As for exams, since I’ve had to take the IELTS exam to live and study abroad, I know exactly how and what to prepare for the exam to achieve the optimum result and can predict the difficulties that might come their way. Needless to say, it’s of utmost importance for students to have access to appropriate materials suitable for their studying needs and years of preparing students and analyzing different materials have led me to compile the most suitable materials for different learning needs.
In conclusion, my journey in English language and literature, coupled with extensive teaching experience, has shaped me into an educator passionate about fostering effective language learning. From studying English literature to obtaining a master's degree in British and American studies abroad, my diverse academic background has equipped me with a profound understanding of the intricacies of the English language. As a non-native speaker turned teacher, I bring a unique perspective to the classroom, having successfully navigated language acquisition myself. With years of teaching across diverse age groups and cultures, I am dedicated to creating a dynamic learning environment that encourages practical language application. I look forward to the opportunity to contribute to the language learning journey of students from various backgrounds on this platform.
