Work experience
I am an accomplished English language practitioner with over 20 years of teaching experience, most of which has been gained at Higher Education institutions delivering and developing EAP courses (including BALEAP approved ones), preparing materials, and providing presentations for student and teacher induction. I have been involved in continuous professional development (having recently completed the Learning Technologies in EAP course at Sheffield University) and gained experience of seminars and conferences, initially as participant and also as presenter. In addition, I also have considerable experience of delivering IELTS preparation classes as well as invigilating and marking IELTS mock exams. I am currently an EAP Tutor at Teesside University ISC and formerly taught at Lancaster University's campus in Weihai using Moodle extensively to supplement and support F2F learning. Prior to that, as Head of English for Academic Purposes at Kings Bournemouth, deepened knowledge of course design and of implementing and maintaining vocabulary and IELTS policies to test track and enhance effectiveness as well as developing and delivering course programmes in conjunction with the selection and preparation of suitable books and materials.
