Alec B.

I'm a current Graduate student at Yale University studying Environmental Management, focusing on climate change science, energy systems and climate policy. I have received a full-ride academic scholarship for my time here from the Paul Mellon Fellowship, awarded to two students each year for their academic potential. I graduated from the University of Cambridge with a first class degree in Geography, for which I received an honorary scholarship and a college prize for outstanding performance in final year examinations. I have extensive experience as a teacher and mentor, including an intensive summer school program in Guangzhou, China, during which I designed lessons and classes in a one-to-one teaching format as well as for large groups. Additionally, I hosted weekly tutoring sessions at Cambridge where I helped numerous students surpass their GCSE and A-level predictions and secure places at Oxbridge. I love learning and I am passionate about teaching, and I take pride in working hard to ensure students get the best out of themselves. I have great interpersonal skills and I feel I am excellent at explaining complex problems. I have studied a broad range of topics throughout my education, including scientific papers such as Volcanology and Glaciology, as well as human papers including International Development and Austerity Economics. I therefore have the skills and experience to help students across a range of disciplines.
