I am currently finishing a Master's by Research (MRes) in Industrially Focused Mathematical Modelling (InFoMM) at the University of Oxford. My interests in mathematics are heavily towards the applied side. As well as my mathematical credentials, I am also a fully-qualified mathematics teacher in Further Education. As someone with over 400 hours of online tutoring experience over the last 10 years, I have perfected quite a few different techniques to help best communicate my mathematical understanding over the Internet, as well as identifying ways that I can apply constant formative assessment through the use of a pen tablet at both ends (tutor and student). I am a very patient and enthusiastic tutor, but at the same time I understand how important it is to create and maintain a space in which students can feel they can say what's on their mind and what they are struggling with, without feeling judged.
