The University of Edinburgh, BSc Psychology,
Shengbaizhuo International Education, Teaching Assistant
My name is Ruohan Xu, and I am passionate about education and helping students achieve their academic goals. I recently graduated with a BSc in Psychology from the University of Edinburgh, where I maintained a 2:1 classification (approximately 68%). One of the highlights of my teaching experience includes tutoring students aged 7 to 18 in IELTS English, Alevel Psychology, and Alevel Mathematics. I have provided both in-person and online tutoring sessions, adapting my teaching methods to suit the individual learning styles of my students. My experience as a Teaching Assistant in Shenzhen, China, involved working closely with students to prepare engaging and effective learning materials, helping them achieve exam success. In addition to my tutoring experience, I have also been involved in peer-assisted learning (PALS) at the University of Edinburgh. In this role, I tutored small groups of psychology students, conducted presentations, and organised events to offer guidance on academic work preparation. As a psychology student, I am confident in my communication skills and my ability to build students' confidence throughout their studies. Currently, I am conducting research in the field of psychology and have several studies nearing publication. This active engagement in research ensures that I stay updated with the latest developments in psychology, which enhances my ability to deliver up-to-date and relevant information to my students.
