About me

Introduction

I have extensive international experience as an English Language educator. I have taught and managed in schools and technical colleges in UK, the Middle and Far East for over 30 years. My most recent role was as a pre-sessional EAP and English Language lecturer for Chinese students with Goldsmiths University London, the course was delivered online through MST. My previous role was as Director of Studies for the East Midlands School of Business and Management in Leicester. Here I taught a variety of general English language levels as well as EAP and IELTS support classes often hybrid and online through Zoom. I also oversaw our institution British Council accreditation.

Before this I was Head of the English Language Centre for the International School Brunei. I taught IELTS preparation classes to Chinese engineers and technicians at a variety of levels as well as an intensive IELTS exam classes. Before this I taught English Language courses for almost 5 years in two separate Brunei 6th form colleges. I also taught English 0-Level and IGCSE exam courses.

Now, my approach to teaching is that I focus on the individual student needs. I target the delivery of the course to the student’s best ability to understand whilst ensuring attention to detail and quality in student performance. Above all, I ensure that good learning takes place and it’s obvious to the student that they are making positive progress.
