Education & work experience
I am a native English speaker from the UK.
I have worked in education for over 12 years, teaching a wide range of students, from age 4 to adult.
I have taught around 3000 online ESL lessons, with a 100% student satisfaction rating.
Previously, I worked as a school teaching assistant for over 8 years, where I tutored students in phonics, spelling, grammar, reading, maths and science, helping them to far exceed their predicted grades.
I believe we learn best when we are having fun, so I try to make resources and lessons as enjoyable and engaging as possible. I love teaching and getting to know my students as individuals, so I can adapt lessons according to their interests, needs and abilities. I am also trained to support learners with special educational needs such as dyslexia, ASD and speech and language difficulties.
I have realistic, but ambitious, expectations for my students to reach their goals and give lots of praise so they feel motivated. I am extremely patient and make lessons fun, engaging and friendly so that students feel confident enough to try something even if they make mistakes. I use modelling to demonstrate the correct response, so they feel positive about learning. It is such a privilege to share their sense of achievement as they make progress.
